I recently learned that INSPIRE textures not only follow bones distortions, they ALSO follow morphing. That's right. If you make the mouth of a character move using "face shapes" every pore will follow the morph. I couldn't believe it. I had had lots of hints that this was possible, but not a lot of examples -- it pays to seek out good tutorials.

I've been offered "free airtime" before, sometimes with fine print where I would lose all rights, sometimes without. This was why I was happy but guarded when I learned one of the five distributors I mailed my tape to was interested. I got the contract, and could barely make heads or tails of it, so, I hinted at better terms, and offered to actually produce something different for that distributor.

So, here I was furiously trying to "crank out" a short so I didn't have to give up the rights to "my baby" in order to give this new distributor their chance at trying to make both of us a buck. The happy ending was that I truly did not understand the contract when I read it, and apparently there was no problem. And a few days later, I had the gist of a story for the bizarre piece above.
